Senior Manager of Software Engineering

You are collaborating with J.P. Morgan for a Senior Manager of Software Engineering role within the Financial Risk Technologies division. As a leader, you will mentor and advise multiple agile technical teams to deliver the best risk solutions for the firm. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers working on basic to moderately complex tasks - Be accountable for decisions influencing team resources, budget, tactical operations, and execution of processes - Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders - Identify and mitigate issues, escalating as necessary - Provide input to leadership on budget, approach, and technical considerations for operational efficiencies **Qualifications Required:** - Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience - 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items - Ability to guide and coach teams aligned against strategic initiatives - Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent - Practical cloud native experience - Proficiency in Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and REACT - Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Test Driven Development (TTD) with hands-on experience in test automation frameworks like Junit, Mockito, and Cucumber - Familiarity with log/metric collection and monitoring technologies like ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, and Splunk - Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and event-driven processing using Kafka - Hands-on experience with building CI/CD pipelines using Git, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Fortify You have expertise in AWS, JavaScript, and HTML, which is beneficial for this role. Additionally, you have experience in agile software development adhering to a product operating model. Knowledge of Domain Driven Design, microservices patterns, and modern architectures would be advantageous.,
