SENIOR MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER / APPLIED ML LEAD

As a Senior ML Engineer / Applied ML Lead at Zillwork, you will be responsible for the following: - Building ML systems from scratch - Owning the ML architecture end-to-end - Handling NLP, embeddings, and ranking models - Working with geospatial data - Deploying production-grade ML - Guiding and mentoring junior ML engineers In this founding-level role, you will have full ownership of ML at Zillwork. Technical Qualifications: - 4-8 years experience in Machine Learning - Strong Python skills including NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn - Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow - Experience with NLP using transformer-based models like HuggingFace, BERT family, XLM-R, and Sentence Transformers - Familiarity with embeddings, semantic similarity, and vector search using FAISS, Pinecone, or Qdrant - Knowledge of ranking algorithms including learning-to-rank and similarity scoring - Hands-on experience with geospatial data for tasks like distance filtering, clustering, and geo-features - Experience deploying ML models in production environments - Experience building real systems, not limited to academic projects Nice-to-have skills: - Experience with multilingual NLP - Experience with ASR/voice pipelines - Experience with recommendation systems - Experience with model optimization for latency - Basic DevOps knowledge including Docker and managing GPU workloads Qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or equivalent experience - Proven track record of delivering ML systems to production - Ability to work independently - Strong problem-solving skills and system design mindset - Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment,
