Senior Embedded Validation Engineer, Silicon

As a Test Engineer at Google, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional software quality for one or more IPs within silicon software. Your responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating ownership and accountability in delivering outstanding software quality. - Creating and implementing test strategies in collaboration with development teams to mitigate risks and address testing gaps. - Driving test automation using existing frameworks and collaborating with the Engineering Productivity team to enhance or develop new frameworks as per testing requirements. - Promoting Product and Engineering Excellence as a fundamental value in test engineering and development partnerships. - Analyzing test results and feedback to identify areas for enhancement, and providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members on process technology. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered. - 6 years of experience in testing embedded software on SoC, including Linux, Android, Real-Time Operating System, or BareMetal. - Proficiency in hardware architecture, board schematics, protocols, and standards. - 6 years of experience in testing and debugging embedded software. Preferred qualifications for this position are: - 4 years of relevant work experience involving software development, testing, and deployment of embedded systems. - Familiarity with Linux Kernel, Linux Kernel Internals, or Android Kernel. - Experience working with prototype devices. - Strong programming skills in modern Python. - Excellent programming skills in Java, C/C++, and Java Native Interface (JNI).
