Description
The Electrical Engineer at Pravaig is responsible for the design, development, and execution of core battery electrical system components and assemblies. You will define, document, and design battery pack and battery module bussing and wiring components and oversee the validation of those components and assemblies. An effective candidate is comfortable applying technical knowledge to innovative designs, driving the resolution of challenges, and taking ownership of new product development activities. Your key responsibilities include technical ownership and delivery of electrical and electronics design through the entire development cycle. You will provide engineering support for the development of electronic hardware systems, including system integration. Additionally, you will support prototype and engineering build during the development phase and work on contactor control, pre-charge, EMI, EMC, electrical power distribution, electrical interference, high-voltage junction boxes, and functional safety. You will also be responsible for component definition, sizing, selection, and design of cell electrical interconnections & bussing, module and pack high current and high voltage electrical interconnections & bussing, fusing, sensing, and control circuitry. Furthermore, you will collaborate with vendors to develop custom components to meet design development requirements and work closely with the mechanical engineering team to develop battery modules and protection control systems. Your role will also involve supporting the final assembly site to ensure proper integration of the battery into the final system. You will conduct rigorous failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective action, and communicate effectively with cross-functional internal stakeholders on issues. Additionally, you will be expected to improve the high-voltage and high-power battery pack electrical and electronics architecture and ensure successful integration with other subsystems within the drivetrain. As an Electrical Engineer, you will also act as a mentor and advisor to Design Release Engineers (DREs) on the team. Desired qualifications for this position include strong electrical and electronics fundamentals, experience in safe implementation and selection of high-current carrying cables and high-voltage cables and busbars, as well as experience and capabilities for DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFA. Basic understanding of CAD tool skills such as SOLIDWORK or UG NX and the ability to learn and adapt to new tools are essential. Strong leadership skills, proactive behavior, a Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering, familiarity with developing a product from concept to production, and micro-controller hardware implementation including mixed signal circuit design and sensor integration are also required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, demonstrated knowledge of electrical tests, and prior experience in HV EV charging systems are preferred.
