Senior Data Scientist - Machine Vision

You will be part of a dynamic team at Fractal as a vision / vision-language data scientist. Your role will involve developing state-of-the-art models and techniques for client projects in various domains like retail, surveillance, manufacturing, process automation, and content generation. You will need to have a strong foundation in Computer Vision and a fundamental understanding of NLP to succeed in this role. **Key Responsibilities:** - Keep up with the latest research in unimodal generative techniques in computer vision, including adversarial networks, cross-attention mechanisms, and latent diffusion modeling. - Develop contrastive, self-supervised, semi-supervised, and natural language-based learning techniques to enhance computer vision tasks in different industries. - Innovate novel approaches for zero-shot and few-shot learning to address specific use cases effectively. - Collaborate on vision language integration, utilizing cutting-edge vision/graphics and language-based prompt tuning for various tasks. - Pioneer self-questioning and reasoning techniques to improve multimodal reasoning and decision-making in language and vision domains. - Explore and implement multimodal applications like visual question answering for video streams and assistive dialogues for human-computer interaction. - Drive research in interactive perception and planning within retail and surveillance domains to create real-world client applications. - Demonstrate expertise in fundamental computer vision tasks such as object detection, segmentation, pose estimation, image captioning, and image/video understanding. - Utilize strong programming skills in Python and C++ to develop efficient and scalable AI models. - Hands-on experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow for prototyping and deploying models. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate R&D outcomes into practical solutions. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelors, Master's, or Ph.D. (completed/degree awaited) in Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, with the aforementioned skills, and a strong interest in industrial research applications. - Good at image manipulation with OpenCV. - Proficiency in Python programming with a strong grip on numpy, pandas, scipy, and matplotlib in PyTorch. - Experience with 3D visualizations using matplotlib, plotly, bokeh, etc. - Basic understanding of 3D geometry (preferable), camera calibrations, projection systems. - Ability to understand, debug, and tackle computational geometry problems. - Familiarity with an end-to-end basic PyTorch training pipeline. - Good communication and presentation skills.
