The IBM Cloud Privileged Access Gateway team is growing and looking to add a Cloud Developers to its team of skilled architects and developers. In this team, you will work in an agile, collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and support services in the IBM Cloud. Your responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of innovative features/automation, fine-tuning and sustaining existing code for optimal performance, uncovering efficiencies, supporting adopters globally, and driving to deliver a highly available cloud offering within IBM Cloud Security Services.As a Cloud Native Senior application developer you will work in an agile, collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and support services in the IBM Cloud. Your responsibilities will encompass the design and implementation of innovative features/automation, fine-tuning and sustaining existing code for optimal performance, uncovering efficiencies, supporting adopters globally, and driving to deliver a highly available cloud offering within IBM Cloud Security Services.Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Own technical initiatives, guide architectural decisions, and set engineering standards.
Architectural Thinking: Design scalable, secure, and cloud-native systems using microservices and APIs.
Full Stack Expertise: Build end-to-end solutions with modern micro services based backend (GoLang, Python, Node.js) and frontend (React, Angular, Vue) technologies.
Cloud & Containers: Deploy and manage applications on Cloud platforms such as IBM/AWS/GCP/Azure with Docker and Kubernetes.
Distributed Systems Expertise: Build and optimize large-scale distributed systems with strong consistency, fault tolerance, and high availability.
Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve bottlenecks in distributed environments to ensure low latency and resilience.
Automation Focus: Implement robust CI/CD pipelines and champion DevOps best practices.
Quality-Driven: Ensure high code quality with automated testing and test-driven development.
Data Handling: Work with relational and NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Observability: Design systems with logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system reliability.
Mentorship: Support and upskill junior developers through coaching and code reviews.
Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and operations to deliver business-aligned
Agile Methodology Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Continuous Learning Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in full-stack development, AI, and cloud computing.
Team Collaboration Work closely with international teams, ensuring effective communication and delivering high-quality features on time.
Required education Bachelor's Degree Preferred education Master's Degree Required technical and professional expertise
5-8+ years of experience with backend (GoLang, Python, Node.js, or similar) and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).Experience with development and deployments on Linux/Unix platforms.Strong foundation of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.Proven experience building and deploying microservices-based architectures.Hands-on experience with Container technologiesKubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, Docker.Strong system architecture and design skills, including API design and event-driven systems.Strong experience designing solutions on cloud platforms (IBM, AWS, GCP, or Azure).Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices.Working knowledge in SQL or NoSQL database such as DB2/Oracle/Postgre/MySQL/MongoDB, etc.Working knowledge with observability stacks (Sysdig, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry).Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring developers, and influencing architectural direction.Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies.Experience with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.Ability to learn quickly and contribute in fast-paced environment.Ability to approach complex issues with a logical, solutions-oriented mindset, attention to detail and multitasking skills.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, adaptable, and proactive attitude.
Preferred technical and professional experience Knowledge of security best practices and DevSecOps.Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting in distributed systems.Familiarity with secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles.Contribution to open-source projects or personal coding projects.Previous experience in leading teams or acting as a technical lead.
