Automation Trainer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and conduct comprehensive training programs on

    automation systems used in pharmaceutical production

    , such as PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and MES.
  • Train and mentor engineers, technicians, and operators on

    automation troubleshooting, maintenance, and validation protocols

    .
  • Design

    SOP-based and hands-on training modules

    compliant with FDA, GMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 guidelines.
  • Conduct training on

    equipment automation

    for packaging, filling, and process control systems.
  • Ensure trainees are well-versed in

    data integrity, audit trails, and regulatory compliance aspects

    of automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to

    identify skill gaps

    and implement targeted upskilling programs.
  • Develop

    training manuals, e-learning content, and assessment tools

    to standardize learning.
  • Stay updated with

    emerging automation technologies

    like Industry 4.0, IoT integration, and digital validation.
  • Maintain training records and support

    internal and external audits

    related to automation competency.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong hands-on experience with

    PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, etc.)

    ,

    SCADA/DCS systems

    , and

    HMI configuration

    .
  • Deep understanding of

    automation in cleanroom, aseptic, and sterile pharma operations

    .
  • Knowledge of

    validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ)

    for automation systems.
  • Familiarity with

    GMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and Data Integrity

    guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both classroom and practical sessions.
  • Ability to design and execute

    technical competency assessments

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and mentoring abilities.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in

    Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering

    .
  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP)

    or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Additional certification in

    GAMP / GMP / Validation / Training & Development

    is an added advantage.

Key Deliverables:

  • Structured automation training curriculum aligned with pharma regulatory requirements.
  • Competency-based assessment framework for participants.
  • Training reports, feedback, and performance tracking.
  • Continuous improvement in automation training modules based on new technology and compliance updates.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in

    pharma automation projects

    , including process control, packaging automation, and utilities.
  • Exposure to

    Siemens PCS7, Emerson DeltaV, ABB 800xA

    , or similar systems.
  • Previous role as a

    Trainer, Lead Automation Engineer, or Validation Specialist

    in pharma manufacturing.
