Job Description

Senior Associate - Oracle Database

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Database Administration:

    Provide database administration support for development, test, and production environments, including installation, upgrades, performance optimization, and decommissions of

    Oracle databases

    .
  • Security & Recovery:

    Administer security access controls and perform necessary security patch implementations. You will also be responsible for recovering databases during disaster recovery events.
  • Automation & Process Improvement:

    Recommend and implement automation opportunities for operational work and process improvements. You will follow, review, and recommend updates to support documentation as needed.
  • Collaboration & Support:

    Collaborate with technical leads on database design decisions to ensure applications have high levels of performance and security. You will investigate and resolve technical database issues and participate in a rotational

    24x7 On-Call Support

    .
  • Storage & Clusters:

    Possess a strong understanding of how to support and use

    NAS storage

    and cluster technologies.

Technical Skills

  • Experience administering

    Oracle Database

    and related services and monitoring systems.
  • Demonstrable experience automating database provisioning, patching, and administration.
  • Experience with various DB toolsets for performance review, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of

    ITIL

    frameworks and standard methodologies.
  • Experience supporting

    Oracle RAC

    and

    Data Guard

    is preferred.
  • Experience using

    Ansible

    for automation is a plus.
  • Experience supporting

    PostgreSQL databases

    is a plus.
  • Experience working on regulated systems (preferably in the pharmaceutical sector) is a plus.
  • Database certifications (OCA)

    are preferred.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree with relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree with extensive experience, or a Diploma with a substantial background in Information Systems and Database Administration.
