Senior SAP ABAP Technical Consultant

Key Responsibilities

Technical Development

• Design, develop, test, and implement custom SAP ABAP applications, enhancements, and interfaces.
• Develop objects using

  Classical & ALV Reports, Smart Forms, SAP Scripts, Adobe Forms

  .
• Build and optimize

  Enhancements, User Exits, BADI, BAPI, Enhancement Framework

  .
• Develop and troubleshoot

  IDoc/ALE, Proxy, RFC, BDC, BAPI integrations

  .
• Work on

  OO-ABAP

  ,

  OData services

  , and

  SAP Gateway

  .
• Develop custom applications in

  SAP Fiori/UI5 (advantageous)

  .

SAP Modules & Functional Integration

• Collaborate with functional consultants in modules such as

  SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, QM, PM, HR

  .
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Perform impact analysis for change requests and projects.

Performance Optimization

• Conduct performance tuning of ABAP programs to meet optimal system performance.
• Troubleshoot runtime errors, dumps, and performance bottlenecks.

System Upgrades & S/4HANA

• Support SAP upgrades, Unicode conversions, and migration projects.
• Experience with

  S/4HANA implementation/migration

  , including

  CDS Views, AMDP, ABAP on HANA

  , preferred.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

• Prepare technical specifications, documentation, and unit test scripts.
• Conduct peer code reviews and ensure adherence to SAP development standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum

  8+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience

• Strong proficiency in:
• ABAP Workbench
• OO-ABAP
• Smart Forms/SAP Scripts/Adobe Forms
• IDoc, ALE, RFC, BDC, BAPI
• Enhancement Framework (BADI, User Exits, Implicit/Explicit Enhancements)
• Experience with

  SAP HANA

  concepts (CDS Views, AMDP, performance tuning).
• Experience in

  OData Services

  , SAP Gateway, and integration with Fiori/UI5 (added advantage).
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certification in ABAP or S/4HANA development.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Exposure to cloud environments (SAP BTP) is a plus.
