Area Key Roles and Specific Responsibilities Accountabilities I. Test Strategy & Planning Test Ownership Review product specifications and user stories to identify test requirements and coverage gaps. Design and write comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Grooming) and provide accurate QA effort estimates. II. Test Quality Execute manual tests for functional, regression, and Execution & Analysis Gatekeeping UAT cycles. Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Redmine, Ticket Management tools, including detailed steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and severity/priority. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical production issues. III. Automation & Technical Automation Contributor Develop and maintain test automation scripts for UI and API testing using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Scripting proficiency in a core language like Java, or JavaScript. Execute API testing using tools like Postman or similar. Write SQL queries for data validation and backend testing. IV. Process & Collaboration Mentorship & Improvement Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to ensure requirements are testable and issues are resolved quickly. Mentor or guide junior team members on features and best practices. Propose and implement improvements to the existing QA process and tools.
