QA Automation Testing Engineer

Location

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications (built on Java, Spring Boot, and Liferay) through robust test automation frameworks and practices. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to design, execute, and maintain automation suites while also supporting functional and regression testing.

Essentials

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium with Java, TestNG, and Cucumber (BDD framework).
• Implement Page Object Model (POM) and other best practices to ensure maintainability and scalability of automation suites.
• Execute test cases (manual and automated) across functional, regression, smoke, sanity, web accessibility, web analytics, and mobile testing.
• Identify, report, and track software defects using JIRA or other defect management tools, and collaborate with developers to ensure timely fixes.
• Perform cross-browser and device testing using platforms like BrowserStack, DeviceAnywhere, etc.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines by integrating automation suites with Jenkins for nightly runs and scheduled executions.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure test coverage across modules built on Java, Spring Boot, and Liferay stack.
• Manage test cases.
• Ensure build stability and integration using Maven for build management and Git for version control.
• Contribute to test strategy, planning, and documentation for various project phases.
• Continuously explore new automation tools and frameworks to improve QA efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Automation and Functional testing.
• Strong programming skills in Java for writing automation test scripts.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Cucumber (BDD approach).
• Good understanding of Page Object Model (POM) and other design patterns in test automation.
• Experience in manual testing types: Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, Web Accessibility, Web Analytics, and Mobile Testing.
• Exposure to API testing will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency with build and version control tools: Maven, Git.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and job automation using Jenkins.
• Familiarity with defect and test management tools: JIRA, TestRail.
• Knowledge of SQL databases (experience with MYSQL & ORACLE).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in a cross-functional agile team.
