Python Automation Engineer

You will be joining our data operations team with a focus on building Python automations for OCR data extraction from FX documents in Oracle FX environments such as FLEXCUBE. Your main goal will be to eliminate manual entry by developing scalable workflows and integrating with Oracle systems to ensure accurate and efficient FX processing. Key Responsibilities: - Develop Python scripts using libraries like PyTesseract, OpenCV, and Pandas for OCR extraction from various FX documents like trade confirmations and SWIFT messages. - Create automation workflows with Airflow or Celery to ingest, process, and validate data, reducing manual work significantly. - Integrate the extracted data with Oracle FX through APIs such as REST and cx_Oracle for seamless updates. - Clean and normalize data to ensure FX compliance with standards like ISO 20022, including error handling for exceptional cases. - Collaborate with teams to deploy pipelines in the cloud (AWS/Oracle Cloud) and monitor them using basic tools. - Optimize scripts, document processes, and identify areas for automation improvement to enhance efficiency. - Ensure data privacy compliance, including adherence to regulations such as GDPR and SOX. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent qualification). - Minimum of 2 years of experience in Python development, with a focus on data processing and automation. - Proficiency in OCR tools like Tesseract, pdfplumber, and image processing using OpenCV. - Familiarity with ETL workflows and Oracle integration, including experience with tools like SQLAlchemy. - Strong skills in Pandas/NumPy, Git, and basic cloud services. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills to work effectively in fast-paced teams.
