Purchase Manager – Frozen Food Processing Plant

Location:

Kesari, Ambala, Haryana

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies.
• Source and evaluate vendors/suppliers for frozen food industry requirements (vegetables, meat, spices, packaging films, cartons, etc.).
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards while purchasing.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.
• Work closely with production, quality, and R&D teams to understand material requirements.
• Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and minimize wastage.
• Conduct market research to identify cost-effective and reliable supply sources.
• Build long-term relationships with trusted vendors and develop alternate sourcing strategies.
• Track procurement KPIs and prepare reports for management.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Food Technology (preferred).
• 4–7 years of experience in procurement/purchase, preferably in

  frozen food, RTE, or food processing industry

  .
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of frozen raw material supply chain (vegetables, chicken, seafood, etc.) and packaging material.
• Familiarity with

  FSSAI norms and food industry compliances

  .
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and inventory management tools.
