Job Description

A Purchase Engineer in electrical control panel manufacturing is responsible for procuring the necessary materials and components for panel production, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role involves vendor management, price negotiation, and maintaining accurate procurement records.
Key Responsibilities
:
Sourcing and Evaluation:
Identifying, evaluating, and qualifying vendors for electrical components, control panels, cables, motors, and other relevant items.
Technical Expertise:
Possessing strong technical knowledge of electrical components and systems used in control panels.
Negotiation:
Negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings and maintain quality.
Procurement Process Management:
Managing the entire procurement process, including creating purchase orders, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery.
Quality Assurance:
Ensuring that all purchased materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Inventory Management:
Collaborating with production and stores to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent shortages.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of all procurement activities, including quotations, purchase orders, and supplier information.
Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
Collaboration:
Working closely with engineering, production, planning, and other departments to understand their material requirements.
Market Research:
Conducting market research to stay informed about new technologies, products, and pricing trends.
Relationship Management:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
Analyzing costs, preparing reports, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.

Solid understanding of electrical components, control systems, and relevant industry standards.
Negotiation Skills:
Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve favorable terms.

Computer Skills:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in procurement, preferably within the electrical or control panel industry.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to procurement.
