Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Assist the Purchase Manager in identifying reliable suppliers and evaluating quotations for mechanical and engineering components.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, inquiries, and follow-ups with vendors.
  • Maintain updated records of suppliers, pricing, delivery terms, and product specifications.
  • Coordinate with Stores, Production, and Maintenance teams to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Track order status and ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid production delays.
  • Support vendor evaluation, performance monitoring, and maintenance of approved vendor lists.
  • Assist in negotiating rates, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Verify purchase invoices against orders and delivery notes for accuracy.
  • Prepare periodic procurement reports (e.g., pending orders, cost analysis, supplier performance).
  • Follow up on material inspection, rejection, and replacement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
