Description
You will be joining FTC Solar Inc, a team of dedicated renewable energy professionals striving to bring cost reductions to clients globally in the solar project development and construction sector. With significant experience in project installations both in the US and worldwide, the company's offerings, including the single axis tracker Voyager, are designed to create value for utility-scale solar EPCs, developers, and long-term asset owners. As a Project Planner, your primary responsibility will be to oversee project-specific buying, planning, and material delivery processes. This role requires ensuring that cost, quality, and delivery expectations are met from the engineering design phase through to the delivery of materials to the customer site. Successful candidates will showcase their ability to collaborate across functions, possess strong project management skills, and have a deep understanding of procurement procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Lead internal project material and logistic cost review and approval procedures - Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely release of Purchase Orders for project schedule adherence - Monitor open purchase orders for assigned projects, identify schedule risks, and implement necessary mitigations - Manage material and logistics spend vis-a-vis budget and ensure compliance with approved project costs - Coordinate the collection of percentage of completion data from the supply base and reconcile on a monthly basis - Work with logistics partners to facilitate material delivery to warehouses, project sites, or other designated locations - Monitor supplier ship dates and oversee each stage of the shipment cycle to ensure timely material delivery to project sites - Handle change revisions of the project BOM and assess the impact on materials orders - Proactively engage with suppliers on key categories to ensure delivery schedules are met - Support in resolving exceptions between suppliers, FTC internally, and customers - Develop and maintain supply chain planning reports to enhance overall efficiency and responsiveness - Apply lean principles to eliminate waste, add value, and streamline the flow of product, information, and cash within the supply chain network Educational Qualifications & Experience: - BE degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration; a Masters degree is advantageous - Over 15 years of work experience in sourcing, supply chain, planning, or operations - Preference for experience in the Solar, Semiconductor, or Steel industries - Proficiency in sourcing and vendor management tools and software - Understanding of Solar market dynamics and strong business acumen - Demonstrated project management and leadership capabilities - Ability to negotiate effectively and maintain sustainable networking relationships - Proficient in data collection, analysis, and interpretation - Sound judgement and decision-making skills - Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment - Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards, QMS, and EMS processes, such as SWOT analysis Working Conditions: - The work location for this role is in Chennai, India - Occasional travel to FTC offices and supplier locations may be required based on business needs This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to FTC Solar's mission of driving cost reductions and delivering value in the renewable energy sector.
