Job Profile:
- Design and conduct (face-to-face and webinar-based) technology training programs for teachers and teacher educators across schools, colleges, and institutions including government and non-government stakeholders on the use of FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) applications for effective technology integration in the teaching-learning process.
- Coordinate with teachers and teacher educators on ICT-integrated programs at the school/college/institution level.
- Visit schools and colleges regularly to support ICT-integrated programs and assist teachers and teacher educators with hardware and software installations.
- Train teachers and teacher educators to create digital resources using mobile- and computer-based FOSS applications.
- Coordinate ICT-integrated programs in schools, colleges, and other educational institutions. Visit institutions regularly to support the implementation of education programs, including hardware/software setup.
- Provide on-call and in-person mentoring and technical support to teachers and field resource teams.
- Support the resource creation team by exploring FOSS tools for audio-visual creation and editing; help develop technology-based resources for teaching and learning. Create and maintain digital content repositories for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop FOSS user manuals, video tutorials, and other self-learning materials to support digital tool adoption.
- Explore and train others on mobile- and computer-based digital technologies that aid teaching and learning.
- Install, configure, use, and troubleshoot FOSS applications, including desktop publishing, multimedia (audio/video editing), resource creation tools, website management, operating systems, and office suites.
- Configure and maintain internet connectivity, LAN/WAN networks at the office and workshop locations.
- Customise and test Linux-based operating systems as per project and user requirements.
- Support the web admin in editing and updating content on organisational websites built with Drupal, WordPress, Moodle, and MediaWiki.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferably B.Sc., BCA, BE, B.Tech, Diploma (in Computer Science), or any graduate with the required skills and interest.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Candidates with 1–3 years in a similar job providing technology training will be considered for the position of “Project Assistant – Technology”
- Knowledge or interest or experience of work in Ed-tech projects in school education is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Kannada (reading and writing) is required. Basic spoken Hindi is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel across Karnataka and other parts of India as needed.
- Interest in training Teacher educators, teachers and students in the use of FOSS tools in teaching learning process.
- Working knowledge of Linux or other open-source operating systems and tools.
- Eagerness to learn new FOSS technologies and tools and help others adopt them.
- Enthusiasm for supporting educational field projects through technology.
- Age preference: 24 to 30 years.
Note:
- The place of work will be Bengaluru, with occasional travel across Karnataka and India as per project requirements
- Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and would not be a constraint for the right candidate.
