Progress Database Administrator

As an experienced Progress Database Administrator (DBA) at our company, your main responsibility will be to design, maintain, and optimize complex QAD database environments. You will play a crucial role in system performance monitoring, automation, and ensuring high availability across Cloud Ops environments in a 24/7 support setup. **Key Responsibilities:** - Monitor and optimize database/system performance to meet uptime SLAs. - Perform root cause analysis for performance issues and implement preventive measures. - Automate routine DBA tasks and streamline processes. - Create and maintain backup/recovery plans; execute data recovery when required. - Develop test plans and support deployments in coordination with change advisory teams. - Collaborate with customers and internal teams for system updates and issue resolution. - Share best practices and mentor peers across teams. - Participate in rotational on-call support for production environments. **Qualifications Required:** - 3-8 years of experience supporting QAD products, Progress databases, or related infrastructure. - Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows, Progress DB, and system performance tuning. - Exposure to SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, AWS RDS, Python, Bash scripting, MongoDB preferred. - Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to handle high-pressure production environments and customer interactions confidently.
