1. JOB PURPOSE

Junior Database Administrator job consist of installation, database creation, performance monitoring,

Data security, troubleshooting, Daily backup tracking, Database alert tracking, incident tracking, Change

Management tracking and data extractions for MIS Reporting/Analysis

3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

A- Minimum required Accountabilities for this role

• Provide 24x7 support for mission critical production databases.

• PostgreSQL Database Installation, monitoring, managing, and maintaining production

databases.

• Resolving Incidents/service request and update the status.

• Tracing of daily backups/incidents/database alerts/Governance & compliance/Support to

DR drill/database growth etc

• Monitor the database health using monitoring tools.

• SQL query tuning hands-on experience

• Data extractions for weekly, monthly & quarterly MIS reporting/Monthly deck/issue

investigation & update database inventory

• Experience in installing, managing, monitoring Postgres Version 12, 13, 14, 15, 16

• Experience in PostgreSQL Server DB Creation, User creation and Permissions, Object

creation etc.

B- Additional Accountabilities pertaining to the role

4. MAJOR CHALLENGES

• No of Database servers to be monitored are increased up to 50

• No of compliance points are 65 to be maintained on all 50 Servers.

• No consistent support from Off-Role team

• Maintaining 100% uptime on all database servers

• Regular database patching and VA resolution MoM

• Only Critical servers are being monitored with existing team member

8. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Educational Qualifications

a) Qualifications

Minimum qualification required is B.E./B.Tech/BSC-IT with minimum of 2.5+ Years of experience

in PostgreSQL DBA

• Work Experience

• Should have good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Should have strong ownership.

• Should have good communication skills.

• RDBMS: Experience in PostgreSQL version 12,13,14,15,16 etc.

• Operating Systems: Knowledge of Linux technology RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.

• Operating Systems: Experience in Windows 2008 R2/2012/2016/2019 Server, & Linux RedHat

• Backup and Recovery: Experience of DB Backup and Disaster Recovery

• HA/DR: Knowledge of HA\DR concepts.
