About The Role

• Manage projects from prototype to production.
• Design for manufacturing(DFM) and Design for assembly(DFA) keeping into consideration the fabrication processes and tolerances
• Design components for various fabrication processes such as Fiber-Reinforced composites, 3D printing, metal machining and injection molding
• Design enclosures for electronic components and accessories
• Collaborate with the electronic design team and aircraft design team for a streamlined product development
• Design mechanical, electro-mechanical subsystems for UAV
• Generate Class-A surfaces for aircraft sub-assemblies
• Provide assistance in material selection, process selection, BOM generation and vendor identification

• Experience with DIY design and manufacturing
• Good understanding of structures and strength of materials
• Understanding of machines and mechanisms
• Working knowledge of surface finish and engineering tolerances
• An eye for detail and diligent attitude towards design
• Quick learner and a team player
• Ability to reverse engineer CAD models from real-life observations and measurements
  

What Are We Looking For

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Design or any other relevant discipline
• Proficient in Fusion 360 or similar CAD tools
• Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings
• Good 3D visualization intuition and hands-on skills
• Firsthand working knowledge of materials, tooling & fixtures, resin systems, precision machining, and manufacturing processes for composite aircraft production
