Privacy Engineer

As a Privacy Governance Specialist at Google, your role is crucial in managing risk postures and compliance objectives related to data, products, and software systems. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that systems, products, and data are handled in a manner that upholds the trust and safety of users, third parties, and employees. You will be required to have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in designing solutions that enhance the privacy posture of the organization. This includes analyzing proposed engineering designs and influencing stakeholders to ensure privacy compliance. Additionally, you should have experience in applying privacy technologies such as differential privacy and automated access management solutions, while customizing existing frameworks to meet organizational needs. Your expertise should also cover areas like privacy data handling, information privacy, and privacy design documentation. Preferred qualifications for this role include the ability to manage multiple high-priority requests effectively, while determining resource allocation to solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Experience in developing ML models and applications end-to-end is also desired, along with a strong understanding of privacy principles and a commitment to safeguarding individuals" data. In your day-to-day responsibilities, you will need to escalate critical and novel AI risks to central and product leadership forums as necessary. Collaborating with Privacy Engineers, you will design technical documentation to ensure consistent privacy decisions within the AI domain. Your role will involve navigating various work-streams, functional concepts, and stakeholders to meet privacy requirements specific to AI and generative AI. You will be expected to connect the dots across systems, products, and teams to implement and scale AI privacy governance solutions throughout Google.
