Position Overview:

PCB Design and Development Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • PCB Design & Development

    : Lead the design, development, and testing of

    printed circuit boards (PCBs)

    for new ophthalmic products and medical devices, focusing on diagnostic equipment, surgical tools, and imaging systems.
  • Schematic Capture & Layout

    : Create detailed

    schematics

    and

    PCB layouts

    , ensuring optimal performance, signal integrity, and power distribution. Utilize industry-standard tools such as

    Altium Designer

    ,

    Cadence

    , or

    KiCad

    for PCB design.
  • Component Selection

    : Select appropriate electronic components based on the design requirements, ensuring compatibility with medical device standards and product specifications.
  • Signal Integrity & EMC

    : Analyze and ensure proper

    signal integrity

    ,

    electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

    , and

    power integrity

    in PCB designs, adhering to regulatory and industry standards.
  • Design for Manufacturability

    : Ensure PCB designs are optimized for

    manufacturability

    and cost-efficiency. Work closely with the

    manufacturing team

    to ensure smooth transitions from prototype to production.
  • Prototype Development & Testing

    : Develop and test PCB prototypes, ensuring they meet all functional, safety, and performance criteria. Perform

    electrical testing

    ,

    debugging

    , and

    validation

    to ensure high-quality standards.
  • Integration with Product Development

    : Work closely with the

    mechanical

    ,

    software

    , and

    optical

    engineering teams to integrate PCB designs into complete product systems, ensuring full system functionality and compliance.

  • Continuous Improvement

    : Stay up to date with the latest PCB technologies, design practices, and industry trends. Suggest and implement design improvements to enhance product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualification

    :
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in

    Electronics Engineering

    ,

    Electrical Engineering

    , or a related field.
  • Specialized training or certifications in PCB design (e.g., Altium, Cadence) is a plus.
  • Experience

    :
  • Minimum

    3-5 years

    of experience in

    PCB design and development

    , with a strong understanding of PCB design principles and hands-on experience in designing for complex electronic systems.
  • Experience in designing

    PCBs for medical devices

    or

    sensitive electronic systems

    is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the design and development of

    medical devices

    is an added advantage.
  • Technical Skills

  • Proficient in

    PCB design tools
