Principal QA Automation Engineer

The role available is for a leadership position in Quality Assurance (QA) within a global digital solutions company that specializes in cloud, data engineering, and quality assurance. The company has a significant focus on innovation and agile delivery, particularly in the BFSI and Healthcare sectors. As the QA Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing both manual and automated testing processes across ETL pipelines, UI interfaces, and databases. Your role will involve leading a team and collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams globally. You will be expected to implement best practices in testing, develop quality strategy documentation, and integrate with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage a QA team consisting of at least 4 members, overseeing testing for ETL, UI, DB, and end-to-end processes. - Analyze project requirements, develop detailed test cases, and create test data for both manual and automated testing. - Validate ETL workflows and transformation logic using advanced SQL skills, particularly with Snowflake, Postgres, or MySQL databases. - Develop and maintain automation scripts using Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks like Gherkin/Behave and Pytest in Python. - Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and Rundeck. - Create and update documentation including Test Strategy, Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Defect Reports, etc. - Foster collaboration among DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams, developers, and stakeholders. - Provide senior leadership with testing metrics and suggestions for improvement plans. Qualifications: - Minimum of 9-12 years of overall QA experience with a focus on ETL, UI, and DB testing for at least 6 years. - At least 3 years of experience in automation testing using tools like Selenium (v3+) or Playwright with proficiency in Python. - Strong command of SQL queries, especially in Snowflake or Postgres databases. - Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms. - Demonstrated leadership skills in managing a team of at least 2 QA members. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Nice to Have: - Exposure to tools like DBT, Informatica, or MS Power BI. - Knowledge of the Healthcare/Life Sciences domain. - Understanding of front-end and back-end validation processes. - Willingness to work flexible hours to collaborate with international teams.
