Power BI Developer / Power BI Expert

Key Responsibilities

1. Power BI Development

• Design and develop

  interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations

  using Power BI.
• Build optimized

  data models

  , including star/snowflake schema modeling.
• Implement advanced

  DAX calculations

  , measures, KPIs, bookmarks, drill-throughs, row-level security (RLS), and custom visuals.
• Develop and maintain

  Power Query M transformations

  to cleanse and shape datasets.
• Create and manage

  semantic models

  in Power BI and/or Azure Analysis Services.
• Optimize report performance through

  aggregations, modeling optimizations, query folding

  , and measure tuning.
• Troubleshoot Power Query, DAX inefficiencies, and gateway issues.
  

5. Collaboration & Business Engagement

• Work with business analysts and domain SMEs to understand KPIs and reporting goals.
  
• Translate business requirements into

  scalable BI assets

  .
• Conduct UAT cycles, deliver documentation, knowledge transfer, and end-user training.
  

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• 412+ years of experience in

  Power BI development

  .
• Strong expertise in:
  
• DAX (Advanced)
  
• Power Query M
  
• Data Modeling (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault concepts a plus)
  
• Incremental refresh, composite models, semantic modeling
  
• Power BI Service administration & workspace management
  
• Experience with

  Azure Data Platform

  (ADF, ADLS, Synapse, Databricks).
• SQL expertise (T-SQL, PL/SQL, Snowflake SQL).
  
• Exposure to DevOps processes: Git, CI/CD for Power BI, deployment pipelines.

• Excellent communication skills for working with business stakeholders.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving mindset.
  
• Ability to work in agile delivery and multi-vendor environments.
  
• Ability to mentor junior BI developers.
  

Preferred (Good to Have)

• Experience with

  Power BI Fabric / Lakehouse / OneLake

  .
• Experience in BI migration projects (Tableau Power BI, Cognos Power BI, MicroStrategy Power BI).
  
• Knowledge of Python/PySpark for basic datasets in lakehouse environments.
  
• Certification:

  DA-100 / PL-300 / Azure Data Engineer (DP-203)
