PostgreSQL DBA

Job Description: You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining PostgreSQL database solutions for applications and data platforms. Your role will involve writing efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support business logic, as well as monitoring database performance, tuning queries, and optimizing indexing and schema design. Ensuring data integrity and implementing backup and recovery strategies will be crucial aspects of your responsibilities. You will manage user access and roles based on security best practices, perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management, and work closely with application developers to ensure seamless database integration. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation related to data models, configurations, and procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications: - 3-6 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL database development and administration. - Strong knowledge of SQL and performance tuning. - Experience with PostgreSQL tools such as pgAdmin and psql. - Understanding of database design concepts, normalization, and indexing strategies. - Familiarity with data migration, backup, and disaster recovery solutions. - Experience working in Linux/Unix environments. - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues quickly and efficiently. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills (Good to Have): - Experience with cloud-based PostgreSQL services like AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Database for PostgreSQL. - Knowledge of other databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, etc. - Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines. - Familiarity with scripting languages like Bash, Python, etc. for automation tasks. This is a contractual/temporary job with a contract length of 6 months. The work location is remote, allowing you to work from home. The preferred education requirement is a Bachelor's degree. The key application question is if you are prepared to move onsite to Jaipur. Experience specifically with PostgreSQL for 3 years is required for this role.,
