Piping Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Reports Weekly work progress, working conditions and productivity
• Prepare and review

  piping layouts, GA drawings, isometrics, and BOMs

  .
• Develop 2D &

  3D piping models, GFC, SHOP Drawing, P&ID

  using CAD tools (AutoCAD, ZWCAD, SOLID WORKS, etc.).
• Ensure designs comply with

  ASME, ANSI, API, IS, and client-specific standards.

• Coordinate with

  process, mechanical, electrical, and civil teams

  for interface requirements.
• Perform

  pipe routing, stress analysis inputs, and support design

  in line with project needs.
• Prepare

  material specifications, datasheets, and piping class updates.

• Participate in

  design reviews (P&ID, 3D models, constructability reviews)

  and resolve comments.
• Support procurement by reviewing

  vendor drawings and technical offers.

• Provide inputs during

  construction, testing, and commissioning

  as required.
• Ensure all deliverables are completed within

  time, quality, and cost targets.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of piping codes & standards (ASME B31.1, B31.3, etc.).
• Proficiency in CAD/3D modelling software (AutoCAD, ZWCAD, SOLID WORKS, etc).
• Understanding of P&ID development and interpretation.
• Knowledge of pipe stress analysis fundamentals
• Good understanding of fabrication, erection, and commissioning practices.
• Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–4 years (for Engineer level) of experience in piping design for oil & gas, chemical, power, or related industries.
• Familiarity with EPC project execution is an added advantage.
