PHP Developer

Pentagon is seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong PHP expertise, experience with modern frameworks, and the ability to design and maintain robust, high-performance web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP and modern frameworks (WordPress, Shopify, Laravel, Symfony, etc.).
• Lead architectural decisions for complex projects ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, QA, and project managers to deliver seamless solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce development best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Learn and assist in integrating basic AI/ML concepts into projects.
• Stay updated on AI trends, tools, and best practices.
• Stay updated with emerging PHP technologies, tools, and industry trends.
• Ensure applications meet performance, security, and reliability standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 5 years of professional PHP development experience.
• Strong experience with PHP frameworks such as WordPress, Shopify, Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, MVC architecture, and design patterns.
• Proficient with MySQL or other relational databases and writing optimized queries.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating third-party services.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Familiarity with server-side and cPanel operations is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js/React) is a plus.
