PhD under Mahindra University - Virginia Tech Interdisciplinary Advanced Research Centre

As a candidate for a PhD position at Mahindra University Virginia Tech Interdisciplinary Advanced Research Centre for Transformative Technologies (MUVT IARCT2) in the field of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, you will be responsible for the following: Role Overview: You will be part of a dynamic research group working on cutting-edge projects in the areas of visual understanding, deep learning, and data-driven modeling for real-world applications. Your work will involve conducting original research, developing innovative algorithms, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct original research in computer vision, image processing, and deep learning. - Design, implement, and optimize vision algorithms using Python and relevant libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to integrate methods into real-world systems. - Prepare scientific publications, technical reports, and filing of patents. Qualifications Required: - Masters degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. - Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow. - Understanding of computer vision algorithms, machine learning, and data analysis. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
