Patch Management Engineer

Job Summary:

The Mid-Level Patch Management Analyst is responsible for leading and coordinating enterprise-wide patch management and vulnerability remediation efforts across Servers and ATMs. This role ensures that servers/ATMs remain compliant, secure, and optimized through structured update cycles, technical automation, and alignment with cybersecurity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate patching operations for Windows, Linux, and ATMS.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to plan, test, and deploy security patches while minimizing business disruption.
• Automate patch deployments and vulnerability remediation tasks using tools such as PowerShell, SCCM, Intune, or WSUS .
• Maintain accurate patch and asset inventory data, ensuring compliance with IT governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of patch management processes, including change records and rollback plans.
• Analyse patch failures, perform root cause analysis, and propose long-term solutions to prevent recurring issues.
• Generate compliance and risk reports for management review, identifying trends and deviations in patch posture.
• Mentor junior patch analysts and assist with improving standard operating procedures.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency with patch management tools: SCCM, Intune, WSUS, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Familiarity with ITIL change management processes.
• Understanding of Windows Server, Linux, and VMware patch procedures.
• Excellent communication and cross-team coordination skills.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in systems administration, IT security, or patch management.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-platform patching operations in medium to large environments.
