Job Description

Role: Oracle DBA

Duration:6-12 months

Location: Remote (India)

Need Oracle DBA |Remote| Contract

Job Summary:

The Oracle DBA is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of Oracle databases. The role ensures data integrity, availability, and security while supporting application development and production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database software and related products.
Create and maintain database structures (schemas, tables, indexes, views).
Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries and database parameters.
Manage database security by creating and managing users, roles, and privileges.
Apply patches and perform version upgrades with minimal downtime.
Troubleshoot database issues, including performance, locking, and replication problems.
Support developers with database design, queries, and stored procedures.
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts and Oracle tools.
Maintain documentation for database configurations, policies, and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2–5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA (junior to mid-level).
Proficiency in Oracle 12c / 19c (or later) environments.
Strong skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning.
Knowledge with RMAN, Data Pump, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Understanding of backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and basic shell scripting.
