Job Description

As an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on virtualization and containers, you will play a key role in architecting, implementing, and managing OpenShift Virtualization (CNV) environments. Your responsibilities will include: - Architecting, installing, and operating OpenShift Virtualization (CNV) with a focus on VM/VMI lifecycle, templates, CDI/DataVolumes, live migration, hot-plug disks, and performance profiles. - Designing performant storage and networking solutions for VMs using technologies such as ODF/OCS/Ceph, Multus, SR-IOV, bonding, CPU pinning, hugepages, and NUMA/topology awareness. - Planning and executing migrations from VMware/Hyper-V using tools like Forklift, including discovery, dependency mapping, cutover, rollback, and ensuring data consistency. - Building HA/DR strategies and runbooks for VM workloads, including backup/restore with tools like Velero, OADP, and Trilio, as well as ODF-DR strategies and multi-AZ resilience. - Implementing security and governance measures such as SCC/PSA, image/OVA pipelines, certificate management, secrets management, network isolation policies, and compliance enforcement using operators like OpenSCAP. - Establishing observability for VMs and the platform through tools like Prometheus, Grafana, EFK/Loki, SLOs/error budgets, capacity planning, and chargeback/showback mechanisms. - Automating lifecycle and operations tasks including cluster/node tuning, performance profiles, day-2 upgrades of CNV/Operators, Ansible/Terraform pipelines, and GitOps patterns. - Collaborating with application, infrastructure, and security teams to define standards, landing zones, golden images, and self-service workflows, as well as mentoring engineers and reviewing designs. Qualifications required for this role include: - 10 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, and containers, with at least 3 years of experience with Kubernetes (OpenShift 4.x) and 2 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift Virtualization/KubeVirt. - Deep virtualization skills in vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM/Libvirt, strong Linux (RHEL) knowledge, storage expertise in Ceph/ODF, and networking experience with LL7, SR-IOV, and VLAN/VXLAN. - Proven experience in migrating VMs at scale, solid automation skills with Ansible and Terraform, CI/CD/GitOps expertise, and security/compliance experience. - Red Hat certifications (EX280, RHCSA/RHCE), OpenShift Virtualization Specialist certification, and vSphere/NSX certifications are preferred. - Experience with ACM/OCM, Service Mesh, External Secrets, Vault, and RHACS (StackRox), as well as exposure to multi-cloud and on-prem environments (AWS/Azure/GCP, vSphere/bare metal).
