SD-WAN Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer

Technical Skills: • Solid experience of
SD-WAN
core (e.g., control plane, data plane, overlay routing, application-aware policies). • Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, packet capture/Wireshark) and monitoring systems (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, PRTG). • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including
TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN
technologies (IPSec, GRE), and routing/switching principles. • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS/Azure networking integration). • Perform continuous, proactive monitoring of the SD-WAN environment (e.g., using platforms like Viptela/Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, Fortinet Forti Manager/FortiGate, VMware Velo Cloud, or similar). • Triage, classify, and prioritize incoming alerts and events related to SD-WAN links, controllers, devices, and underlay network performance.
Act as the primary technical point of contact between NOC and Tier 3 (L3) Engineering teams, providing detailed analysis before escalating highly complex or persistent problems
Advanced proficiency in networking protocols: BGP (e.g., policy implementation), OSPF, MPLS, IPsec/VPNs, and deep understanding of TCP/IP stack.
