MEP Engineer

Key Roles:

• Managing MEP Projects: Oversee multiple MEP systems (like electrical, plumbing, HVAC) to ensure projects run smoothly, on time, and on budget.
• Cost Estimates: Calculate costs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other MEP systems, including materials, labor, and time.
• Supervising Contractors: Ensure contractors follow specifications and meet deadlines.
• Coordinating with Teams: Work with architects, engineers, and contractors to make sure MEP systems match the design and structural plans.
• Providing Technical Advice: Offer expert advice on MEP system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Resolving Design Issues: Suggest solutions when designs need to be adjusted due to site conditions or coordination challenges.
• Health & Safety: Ensure health and safety standards are followed on-site to keep workers safe.
• Off-Site Inspections: Inspect materials and equipment off-site to ensure they meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Validating Designs: Review and suggest improvements to MEP designs based on real-world conditions.
• Coordinating Materials and Drawings: Make sure MEP materials, systems, and shop drawings are ready for installation.

Key Skills:

• MEP System Knowledge: Understanding how mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems work.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze problems and find the best solutions.
• Communication: Explain technical details clearly to different teams (contractors, engineers, clients).
• AutoCAD: Use AutoCAD for reviewing or creating technical drawings.
• Building Codes: Ensure designs and installations meet local building codes and standards.
• Construction Knowledge: Understand practical aspects of construction to make sure designs are feasible.
