MEP Engineer

Job overview:

We are looking for a MEP Engineer with about 2 to 10 years of experience to join our building / infrastructure / real estate projects. The ideal candidate will assist in designing, coordinating, and implementing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with codes, effective collaboration with other disciplines, and good cost & time management.

Qualification

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2 to 10 years of work experience in MEP design / site coordination / consulting / contractor side.
• Proficiency with design / drafting software: AutoCAD, Revit MEP / BIM tools.
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing/water supply, drainage, electrical power & lighting, fire protection / firefighting systems.
• Knowledge of load calculations, equipment sizing, material selection.
• Good understanding of local codes and norms (e.g. Indian Standards, local municipal regulations).
• Strong communication skills: able to liaise with architects, structural engineers, contractors, vendors.
• Good organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines.
• Problemsolving ability, attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing design drawings and layouts for

  mechanical

  ,

  electrical

  , and

  plumbing (MEP)

  systems.
• Work with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or equivalent software for drafting and modelling.
• Perform load calculations (electrical load, HVAC load), sizing of equipment (air conditioners, pumps, lighting, etc.).
• Prepare specifications of MEP equipment, materials, and systems.
• Coordinate with architecture, structure, interiors teams to integrate MEP systems without conflicts.
• Participate in site visits to gather existing conditions, supervise installations, ensure compliance with drawings.
• Review vendor / supplier submissions for equipment and materials; check for compliance with specifications.
• Ensure designs and installations comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, environmental regulations.
• Assist in preparing BOQ, cost estimates for MEP works; help with tender documentation.

Track progress during execution, resolve site issues, support quality control & commissioning of MEP systems
