Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview: You will be responsible for designing and developing Special purpose Assembly Automation systems and Testing systems. Your primary tasks will include validating design concepts, converting design concepts into 3D CAD models, performing engineering calculations, producing detail drawings, and liaising with various teams during manufacturing and procurement stages. Additionally, you will be expected to adhere to ISO procedures, update design documentation, and ensure project completion within the stipulated time, cost, scope, and quality. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop Special purpose Assembly Automation systems and Testing systems - Validate and arrive at concepts for designing systems - Examine technical specifications to determine procedures and objectives - Convert design concepts into 3D CAD models - Perform engineering calculations for strength of materials, speed, pressure, and force - Produce detail drawings with bills of materials - Review drawings for accuracy and material selection - Prepare design documentation, obtain quotations, and prepare Bill of Materials - Liaise with vendors and purchase team during manufacturing - Collaborate with execution team during assembly and testing stages - Coordinate with control engineering team for integration of electrical design - Update design documentation upon machine final acceptance - Ensure ethical standards and compliance with the TATA code of conduct - Deliver designs meeting all requirements and objectives - Update drawings and implement improvements regularly - Complete design activities on time with quality - Provide cost-effective solutions meeting customer needs - Support Assembly team to meet customer requirements Qualifications Required: - Engineering or Post Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering - 2-4 years of experience in automation design - Ability to perform engineering calculations related to machine and tool design - Knowledge of engineering drawing and GD&T - Familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes, and heat treatment - Understanding of machine shop techniques - Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software - Knowledge of Pneumatics and Hydraulics - Strong conceptualization and problem-solving skills - Inquisitive nature with a thirst for learning - Willingness to work extended hours to achieve targets - Logical thinking and analytical skills - Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills,
