Math Instructional Coach

The Math Instructional Coach (MIC) plays a crucial role in providing instructional support and coaching to all grades of the School to ensure that every student can achieve their academic potential. As an advisor to the teachers and principal, the MIC's responsibilities encompass various key areas. These include collaborating with academic staff to share best practices, observing instructional delivery and providing feedback, assisting in the design of units and lessons, and analyzing data to adapt curriculum and assessment methods to meet student needs. Collaboration with the Homeroom Teachers is essential for planning and delivering Math concepts effectively. The MIC also focuses on aligning high-priority initiatives in Mathematics for both new and returning staff members. By supporting the development of high-quality Math instruction, observing and coaching teachers, and working on common standards-based plans and assessments, the MIC contributes significantly to enhancing teaching practices and student learning outcomes. Additionally, the MIC collaborates with various teams within the school to analyze data, develop intervention plans, and contribute to the improvement of Math instruction through policies and structures. Monitoring student achievement data continuously is a key aspect of the role to identify necessary supports and strategies to ensure academic success for all students. Qualifications required for the position include a Masters or Bachelors degree, Teaching Credentials from a university in the USA, IB (PYP or MYP) experience, at least 7 years of Math teaching experience, and at least 3 years of experience in leading other teachers to achieve strong academic results. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, experience in coaching and delivering professional development, knowledge of content and pedagogy, and the ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning processes. Furthermore, the MIC should demonstrate the ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues and students, create a conducive learning environment, and exhibit a strong commitment to helping students excel academically.
