Manual Tester or Quality Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Execute detailed test plans manually on the product to ensure compliance with specifications and

requirements.

• Update the steps and expected results in the test plans as needed as the product evolves
• Perform regression testing to ensure the stability of software releases.
• Identify, document, and report defects accurately using designated defect tracking tool (Jira).
• Verify fixes for defects.
• Communicate test results and progress updates to the Director of Quality Assurance and relevant

stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements review and review sessions to gain a thorough understanding of project

objectives and new features.

• Contribute suggestions to improve functional test coverage of test plans and documentation.
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover hidden defects and usability issues.
• Provide feedback on product usability and suggest improvements on the user experience using the

appropriate feedback channels.

Requirements

• Experience in manual software testing practices, preferably in a QA role.
• Previous experience in testing browser-based applications.
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in test execution and defect reporting.
• Ability to isolate sources of defects and generalize the scope of the issues.
• Familiarity with defect tracking systems and test management tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.

Bonus

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.
• Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts (desirable but not required).
• Understanding of user personas and scenarios to guide testing efforts from a user-centric perspective.
• Previous involvement in cross-functional collaboration with QA teams, UX designers, developers, and

product managers to align testing efforts with product goals and user needs.

• Background in finance or insurance industries.
• Experience with Slack and Jira
• Python scripting and familiarity with JSON files preferred.
