Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose

As a mid-level Continuous Improvement Change Leader, you will be responsible for identifying,

leading, and supporting process improvement initiatives across manufacturing and support

functions. You will apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce

waste, and improve quality in the production of cutting tools. You will drive CI initiatives and

cultural change though implementing organisations program .

Key Responsibilities

Cultural Improvement

  • Drive organisational level programmes
  • Design and execution of continuous improvement modules- process/product specific

Process Improvement

  • Conduct time studies, root cause analyses, and process mapping for machining and grinding operations.
  • Lead Kaizen events and implement 5S, SMED, and visual management systems on the shop floor.
  • Enhancing Value stream

Project Leadership

  • Manage small to medium-scale improvement projects from initiation to completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and engineering.
  • Layout optimisation and cell design/ Optimising Material flow

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor key metrics such as scrap rates, cycle times, and OEE.
  • Use tools like Pareto charts, control charts, and fishbone diagrams to drive decisions.
  • Progress mapping, Auditing

Training & Coaching

  • Identify Training needs for different levels of Job wrt Operational excellence - Lean manufacturing, Set up reduction, standard work practices, Team work
  • Design and execution training module for cultural development regarding continuous improvement mindset among team members.

Change Management

  • Assist/Drive the rollout of new processes, technologies.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure buy-in and minimize resistance.
  • Improving Change readiness index within team.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Relevant years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in cutting tools, machining, or precision engineering.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt is a plus).

Skills:

  • Familiarity with CNC machining, tool grinding, and coating processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Minitab, or similar analysis tools, Autocad or designing software know how will be added advantage.
  • Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
  • Training skills
