Job Description

Were seeking a resilient Business Development Manager to drive growth in sustainable waste-management (e-waste, plastics, battery, tyre). Youll identify opportunities via market mapping, develop penetration strategies with senior leadership, streamline processes for exceptional client service, secure new clients through outreach and networking, retain existing ones, craft proposals and contracts, negotiate favorable terms, and maintain a robust sales pipeline with timely reporting.

Role & responsibilities

Achieving Business Revenue Targets

  • Identify business opportunities and build a robust revenue pipeline by targeting strategically important regional clients.
  • Conduct sales calls with prospective clients to present and explain our products and services.
  • Gather intelligence on client needs and preferences to uncover sales opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all sales activities and customer interactions & support in overall day-to-day Sales operations including client documentation and cost management.

Market Intelligence & Networking

  • Continuously identify leads through online research, referrals, business meetings and conferences to convert them into business.
  • Analyze and map the market to design tailored business solutions that align with client needs and competitive dynamics.
  • Frame effective strategies to improve client retention and resolve both client and internal challenges through creative problem-solving.

Business Review Management

  • Maintain the sales funnel and provide regular business-update presentations, including client-specific insights for sales reviews.
  • Ensure post-sales onboarding is seamlessly managed by internal operations, establishing a streamlined and structured operating procedure.
  • Understand each prospects business needs and design an operational action plan that supports successful delivery.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the service or a related industry.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Compliance or similar.
  • Strong sales track record, excellent networking, negotiation and closing skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; detail-oriented, independent, able to multitask and prioritize.
  • Resourceful researcher with outstanding interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Professionally polished for client meetings and willing to travel outstation.
