Linux Support Engineer

As a Linux Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing day to day Linux support for multiple customers by exercising proven Operating System and infrastructure experience in the enterprise space applying process; procedures; Standards; guidelines and best practices.

• Supporting BAU for various clients
• Management including installation, configuration, troubleshooting of various software applications
• Assist appropriate teams in all phases of Production implementation
• Perform system tuning activities where appropriate
• Make recommendations to improve the health of the system where necessary.
• Provide on-call support as scheduled.
• Coordinate service calls and requests with team members where necessary.
• Respond to incident tickets and provide updates in a timely manner.

Skills Requirement:

• Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments.
• Knowledge in Linux, Command Lines & Configuration using REST Calls.
• Setting up VPN, System and network level administration.
• Good Troubleshooting skills.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services.
• Ability to build and monitor services on production servers.
• Additional knowledge of communication protocols such as MODBUS, NMEA, and MQTT.
• Experience with container-based deployments using Docker, including working with Docker images and Docker Hub.
• Experience with Python, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB fundamentals, and their integration and interactions.
• Solid English communication & Interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work in different shifts.

Candidate Profile:

• Must have a minimum 3 to 5 years relevant experience in the IT Services Industry.
• Undergrad degree in Information Technology (BS / B.E. / B-Tech in Electronics, Electrical, IT)
• Must be able to work effectively within a project team.
• Ability to independently plan, organize and prioritize task assignments to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
