Liferay Developer

Job Purpose/Summary:

The Senior Liferay Developer/Architect is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade portals and web applications using Liferay DXP. The role requires strong hands-on experience in Java, Liferay frameworks, and integration capabilities, along with the ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

???????????? Lead the design and development of Liferay-based portals, themes, portlets, hooks, and extensions.

???????????? Customize and configure Liferay to meet project and business requirements.

???????????? Integrate Liferay with third-party systems via REST, SOAP, or custom APIs.

???????????? Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.

???????????? Participate in code reviews and enforce best coding practices.

???????????? Collaborate with UI/UX, backend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.

???????????? Prepare technical documentation, deployment plans, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

???????????? Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance when needed.

???????????? Stay updated with Liferay's latest features and roadmap for effective solutioning.

Functional Skills/Competencies:

???????????? Strong expertise in Liferay DXP (7.x), including themes, portlets (MVC and ServiceBuilder), hooks, and fragments.

???????????? Proficient in Java, JSP, Servlets, and Spring Framework.

???????????? Hands-on experience with Liferay REST APIs, user and role management, workflows, and staging.

???????????? Experience with application servers like Tomcat.

???????????? Familiarity with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AlloyUI, React (optional).

???????????? Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Maven/Gradle, Git, and DevOps practices.

???????????? Experience with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
