Level Designer

XSQUADS is seeking a talented 3D Environment/Map Designer with at least 4 years of experience to contribute to the creation of captivating game environments for our projects. As a part of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing realistic 3D environments and maps that enhance the multiplayer gameplay experience. Your main responsibilities will include designing and creating visually appealing environments, collaborating with the game design team to ensure balanced map layouts, implementing lighting and textures to improve aesthetics, and optimizing assets for optimal performance in real-time game engines. Additionally, you will leverage AI-powered tools and procedural generation techniques to expedite world-building processes and seamlessly integrate 3D environments with gameplay mechanics. It is essential to stay updated with industry trends to enhance map design techniques continually. The ideal candidate should have proven experience as a 3D Environment Artist or Level Designer in the gaming industry, proficiency in 3D modeling and texturing software such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or ZBrush, a strong understanding of game engine environments (particularly Unity 3D or Unreal Engine), and experience with terrain sculpting, world-building, and asset placement. Knowledge of lighting, shading, and material creation for realistic environments, familiarity with AI-assisted design tools, and the ability to optimize 3D assets for real-time performance are crucial. A keen sense of level design, composition, and storytelling through environments is highly valued. Preferred skills for this role include experience in creating large-scale open-world maps, understanding of procedural generation techniques, ability to work with physics-based rendering workflows, experience with map balancing and gameplay flow analysis, and a passion for designing immersive multiplayer battle environments.
