Lead Software Engineer - AWS/Java Microservices

You will be responsible for providing technical guidance and direction to support the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors. Your role will involve developing secure and high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging code written by others, and making decisions that impact product design, application functionality, and technical operations. As a subject matter expert in one or more areas, you will actively contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle. Additionally, you will influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use of leading-edge technologies while promoting a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. To qualify for this position, you must have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts along with at least 10 years of applied experience. Experience in leading teams of technologists and the ability to guide and coach teams towards achieving strategic goals are essential. You should also have experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent, as well as hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes, particularly in areas such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile technologies, is required. Proficiency in Java/J2EE and REST APIs, Web Services, along with experience in building event-driven Micro Services and Kafka streaming is necessary. Familiarity with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and AWS Services in public cloud infrastructure is preferred. An understanding of agile methodologies like CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security is also desired. You should be able to independently tackle design and functionality problems with minimal oversight and have experience working with developmental toolsets such as GIT/Bitbucket, JIRA, Maven at the code level. Preferred qualifications include experience in leading Java Microservices applications on AWS or other public cloud platforms, as well as certifications in Java programming or related technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Spring Certification) and AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate).
