Role Summary/Purpose
In this role you will be responsible for developing Concepts and Design Requirements for Energy management applications installed on locomotives. In this role you will work closely with a team of Software Engineers, QA Engineers, System architects, System Engineers, and Product Managers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Drive the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product program requirement
- Be responsible for System Subsystem Level Design requirements for Energy management features and functionalities by providing the Design concepts, detailed design requirements on DOORs, Product Descriptions, ICD's, FMEA's, Sub system design documents and other input documents.
- Define and manage Interfaces to all sub-systems in compliance to the system solution.
- Support and work with Software and validation engineers in developing the feature/functionality enhancement and solutions.
- Help define System Validation Plans and work with Validation Engineers to ensure traceability between the design requirements and test plans to verify cross references.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
- Take ownership of technical concepts, solution, risks mitigation plans, and engineering cost estimates on proposals.
- Maintain broad awareness of technical trends to ensure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work, and reviews and responsiveness to customer program needs.
- Provide effective and timely communications on significant issues or developments.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bangalore, India
Qualifications Requirements
- Bachelor's Masters' degree in Controls Electronics Instrumentation or other technical science disciplines.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of technical experience along with established technical leadership credentials across Locomotive Automotive Aerospace product lines.
- Minimum of 4 years hands-on design and implementation experience involving; Embedded controls systems, Embedded software Engineering, and/or Electrical Designs.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong technical knowledge in embedded systems design and closed loop controls development concepts.
- Expertise in System design and Validation on systems involving; Real time non-real time controls, Energy management Optimization techniques.
- Experience in understanding and translating customer requirements into functional requirements and providing design solutions.
- Experience with INCOSE system engineering standards, DOORs classic and Next gen - Requirements Management Tools, ClearQuest, IBM Rational team concert tools.
- Experienced in Model based designs in MATLAB/Simulink and embedded programming.
- Experience with System Testing Processes, Tools, and Automation.
