Job Description

As the Lead Database Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining the data architecture and associated data maintenance, integration, and load processes for the organization. You will lead initiatives to build and maintain database technologies, environments, and applications, constantly seeking opportunities for improvements and efficiencies. Your role will involve architecting internal data solutions as part of the full stack, including data modeling, and writing SQL statement procedures to optimize SQL tuning and query development. You will manage the deployment of database solutions that are optimally standardized, ensuring database updates meet project deliverables. In addition, you will take the lead in enhancing the database security posture by proactively identifying security risks and implementing risk mitigation plans and control functions. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing the resolution of chronic complex problems to prevent future database performance issues and supporting process improvement efforts to identify automation opportunities and reduce time to deployment. Moreover, you will be involved in the design, development, and performance and system testing of complex database solutions. You will provide functional guidance and advice to experienced database administrators and mentor junior staff by offering training to develop technical skills and capabilities across the team. To excel in this role, you should have experience leading major work streams or multiple smaller work streams for large domain initiatives. You should be adept at providing technical guidance and advice to project team members and creating deliverables within global database technology domains and sub-domains. Experience in supporting automation and/or cloud delivery efforts, financial and cost analysis, database architecture, and relevant IT experience across multiple product lines will be beneficial. Additionally, experience in leading business system application and database architecture design, influencing technology direction in various IT areas, and specializing in specific functional areas such as replication, performance tuning, database design, troubleshooting, data security, backup, and recovery is desired.
