Lathe Machine Operator

Role Overview: As a Lathe Operator, your role involves setting up the lathe by selecting appropriate tools, setting speeds and feeds, and ensuring proper calibration. Operating the lathe will require feeding material into the machine, controlling cutting tools, and monitoring the machining process. It is essential to have the ability to read and interpret blueprints to determine required dimensions and tolerances for the parts being produced. Inspecting finished parts using various measuring tools to verify that they meet specified dimensions and quality standards is a crucial aspect of your job. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks such as routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to keep the machine in good working order. Troubleshooting issues that may arise during machining, such as tool breakage or dimensional inaccuracies, is also part of your responsibilities. Ensuring a safe working environment by following established safety protocols and documenting production data like material usage, cycle times, and inspection results are key tasks that you will need to perform diligently.
