Lab Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Laboratory Setup & Maintenance
• Prepare laboratories for practical sessions as per the syllabus and faculty instructions.
• Install, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment, machines, and tools.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments (e.g., lathe, milling machine, universal testing machine, IC engines, hydraulics setups, etc.).
• Assisting in Lab Sessions
• Support faculty in conducting laboratory classes and experiments.
• Guide students in handling equipment, measuring instruments, and safety procedures.
• Assist in conducting demonstrations, projects, and workshops.
• Safety & Compliance
• Ensure that all safety protocols and guidelines are followed in the laboratory.
• Maintain records of lab safety checks and report any malfunctions or hazards.
• Keep first aid and fire safety equipment updated and accessible.
• Inventory & Record Management
• Maintain stock registers for consumables, tools, and spare parts.
• Raise requests for procurement of new equipment and consumables.
• Keep logs of machine usage, maintenance, and calibration.
• Repairs & Troubleshooting
• Carry out minor repairs of machines, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate with external vendors for major repairs and servicing.
• Academic Support
• Assist faculty and students in final year/mini-project works requiring lab facilities.
• Support research and development activities when required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with workshop machines, mechanical tools, and laboratory setups.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and laboratory practices.
• Basic computer knowledge for maintaining records and reports.
• Strong practical skills, attention to detail, and teamwork ability.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
