• Analyse existing network infrastructure and document current router configurations.
• Design an efficient migration plan, considering network topology, capacity requirements, and future scalability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and timelines.

Implement router migration:

• Configure and deploy NCS540/ASR9K routers according to the migration plan.
• Coordinate with the network operations team to ensure proper connectivity and routing across the network.
• Test and troubleshoot configurations to identify and resolve any issues during the migration process.
• Perform backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams:

• Work closely with network architects, system administrators, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of new routers.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team members involved in the migration process.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to procure necessary equipment and resources.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Create detailed documentation of network configurations, migration procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Generate regular progress reports, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of hardware, software, and licenses related to the network infrastructure.

Network Optimization:

• Identify areas of improvement in the network infrastructure and propose solutions for enhanced performance and reliability.
• Monitor network performance using appropriate tools and implement optimizations as required.
• Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer with expertise in router configuration, migration, and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of Cisco routers (ASR903, ASR920, NCS540) and their functionalities.
• Experience in designing and implementing network migration plans and conducting risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of IP routing protocols (e.g., BGP, ISIS), VLANs, WAN, and LAN technologies (MPLS, MPLS LDP, MPLS L2VC, MPLS VRF)
• Familiarity with network principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
