Job Description

Position Overview

The Network Operations Center (NOC) team is responsible for monitoring, managing, and maintaining an organization's IT infrastructure and network systems on a 24/7 basis. NOC team members ensure optimal network performance, quickly identify and resolve issues, and maintain system availability.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Surveillance

  • Monitor network performance and system health using monitoring tools and dashboards
  • Track network traffic, bandwidth utilization, and system resources
  • Observe alerts and notifications from network devices, servers, and applications
  • Maintain constant vigilance over critical infrastructure components
  • Execute scheduled maintenance tasks and system updates

Incident Management

  • Respond to network alerts, outages, and performance degradation
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate technical teams (Level 2/3 support)
  • Document all incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in ticketing systems
  • Follow incident management procedures and SLA requirements

Communication & Reporting

  • Communicate network status to stakeholders during incidents
  • Provide regular status updates during critical events
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports
  • Maintain detailed logs of network activities and changes

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing)
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (SCOM, SolarWinds, DataDog, Ninja RMM, Graphana , Telegraph, Autosys)
  • Familiarity with firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux/Unix)

Certifications (Preferred)

  • ITIL Foundation

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work under pressure during critical incidents
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Experience Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in IT operations, network administration, or help desk roles
  • Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy)
  • Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices

  • 24/7/365
