Job Description:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior QA Tester with 2 4 years of experience in both manual and automation testing, particularly in UI and API testing. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of testing methodologies, strong analytical thinking, and hands-on experience in identifying and documenting bugs, automating tests, and working closely with developers and product owners to deliver high-quality software. He/She will be part of a collaborative team, ensuring the functional and performance integrity of web and backend applications by validating both the user interface and API endpoints through systematic testing.
Key Responsibilities:

Manual Testing:

  • Understand functional and technical requirements from user stories or design documents
  • Design comprehensive

    test plans

    ,

    test scenarios

    , and

    test cases

    for both UI and API layers
  • Execute manual test cases to validate business logic, UI behavior, error messages, and edge cases
  • Perform

    cross-browser and responsive UI testing

    for web applications
  • Perform

    API testing

    using tools such as Postman or Swagger to validate request/response, status codes, headers, and payloads
  • Report and track bugs using tools like JIRA, ensuring proper reproduction steps and severity/priority tagging
  • Conduct

    regression testing

    during release cycles and ensure test coverage for hotfixes or change requests

Automation Testing:

  • Develop and maintain

    automated test scripts

    for UI and API test cases using tools/frameworks like Cypress, Typescript, Selenium, REST Assured, or similar
  • Integrate test automation into the

    CI/CD pipeline

    using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement test hooks or automation enablers where needed
  • Execute and monitor automated test runs, analyze failures, and report issues
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of

    manual testing concepts

    ,

  • Hands-on experience in

    UI testing

    using tools like Selenium or Playwright
  • Hands-on experience in

    API testing

    using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SOAP UI
  • Familiarity with test frameworks like TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber
  • Basic knowledge of programming/scripting in

    Java, Typescript, or JavaScript

  • Good understanding of

    HTTP methods

    JSON/XML payloads

  • Knowledge of

    Git

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment
  • Problem-solving mindset and analytical thinking

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in Agile methodology with regular sprint cycles
  • Familiarity with SQL for database validation
  • Understanding of microservices-based architectures
  • Knowledge on payment, especially regarding billing process is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • ISTQB or similar QA certification is a plus
